FREE, Fun, Food: DC VegFest 2016!

 

Where can you find free samples of delicious food, dynamic celebrity speakers, more than 115 vendors and non-profits, live music, cooking demonstrations, fun kids’ activities, a barking lot for dogs — and so much more? DC’s Yards Park is the place to be on Saturday, Sept. 24, as more than 20,000 people gather to celebrate DC VegFest 2016!

Join DC VegFest Emcee Jane Velez-Mitchell, and enjoy talks from influential and exciting speakers, including race car driver and environmental activist Leilani Munter; TV host and public speaker Marco Antonio Regil; award-winning vegan bodybuilder Torre Washington; Plant-Based Foods Association consultant Elizabeth Kucinich; Dr. Stephen Neabore & Emily Kasmar, M.S. of Barnard Medical Center; and more! Bring your books along to get signed following talks by scientist Jonathan Balcombe (author of What a Fish Knows) and Tracye McQuirter (author of By Any Greens Necessary).

See chefs in action with cooking demos by Dustin Harder, host of popular web series “The Vegan Roadie,” and Naijha Wright and Greg Brown of Baltimore’s The Land of Kush. Enjoy live tunes by Buntopia, Steven Gellman and Norm Hogeland at the Music Tent.

There is something delicious for everyone at DC VegFest; check it out for yourself! Treeline Cheese, Daiya, Tofurky, Ben & Jerry’s, and others will be offering free vegan food samples.
