What Time is the Event & What is the Schedule?
The event starts at 11:00 with the first speaker going on stage at 11:30. The event ends at 6:00. Check out the full day’s schedule
NOTE: At the DC VegFest info booth, we will be giving out free bags to the first 1,000 people, starting at 11:00am. Bags will not be given out before 11:00am.
How Do I Get There? By Car, Metro, or Bus?
This year’s event will be held at the intersections of 3rd St and Tingey St SE. There is a surface parking lot on 4th St SE south of Tingey St, and limited metered parking available within a three-block radius of the venue. Use of public transportation is highly recommended
Metro: Yards Park is conveniently located two blocks from the Navy Yard Metro (green line). Take the New Jersey Ave exit. Click here for walking directions from the Navy Yard Metro to the Park.
Bus and DC Circular: Multiple Metro bus routes including the A42, A46, A48, P1, P2, V7, V8, V9 have stops along M Street, SE. You can also take the Union Station-Navy Yard Route via Capitol Hill on the DC Circular. The Circulator costs only $1 and will have weekend service running.
Where Can I Park My Car or Bike?
Cars: In addition to street parking options in a limited number of metered spaces, parking will be available at the Yards’ surface parking lot on 4th St SE. Use of public transportation is highly recommended.
Bikes: The Yards Park has bike racks clustered throughout the park, located along Water St SE. Capital Bikeshare is also conveniently located at the corner of M St and New Jersey Ave SE and at the corner of First St and N St SE.
How Much Does the Event Cost?
It’s free! Everyone is welcome at the DC VegFest, and we strongly encourage you to bring along your meat-eating (a.k.a. vegetarian-to-be) friends.
Can I Bring My Dog?
Yup! Four-legged friends are allowed, though they should be kept on a leash at all time. At the event, you’ll find several “R & R” stations offering water, treats and clean-up bags.
Will There Be Activities for Kids?
Absolutely! We’ll have a special kids activities tent featuring lots of games, face-painting, storytelling, and more, so bring along your whole family.
Will there be DC VegFest Commemorative Merchandise for Sale?
We will be selling our custom DC VegFest green tees at the info booth for $20 each, in adult unisex sizes SM-2X. To learn more, see our pre-order sales page

Is There an ATM Nearby? Will Vendors Take Cash Only?
There will be an ATM on site, and there is a USAA ATM inside the CVS located at 1100 New Jersey Ave SE two blocks away from the festival. Some vendors will also accept credit cards, though it’s up to each vendor – we suggest bringing cash just in case.
What Happens If It Rains?
The DC VegFest is an outdoor event — rain or shine! The event will continue as planned unless weather poses a threat to the safety of our guests.
What Food Will Be Vegan (meat-, egg-, dairy-free)?
Everything will be vegan. This vegetarian celebration is 100% meat-, egg-, and dairy-free — even the dog treats! You’ll also find several gluten-free options available at various vendors.
Will There Be Free Drinking Water Available?
Yes! The DC VegFest is working alongside DC Water
to bring you a filtered water fountain station. Feel free to bring your reusable water bottle to fill up or get a water bottle or Zevia calorie-free soda at the Info booth for a $1 donation!
Is it too late to Sign Up as an Exhibitor?

How Do I Get a Free DC VegFest Commemorative Bags?
We are giving away 1,000 DC VegFest commemorative bags starting at 11am — we don’t expect these bags to last long, so be sure to get there on time for your chance to take one home! The bags will be given away at the INFO booth (at the entrance to the venue), and we’ll be forming a line along the sidewalk for anyone who shows up early. and reserve your bag early!

Where Can I Pick Up My DC VegFest Supporter Gifts?
If you generously signed up a DC VegFest Supporter
, you can stop by our Info booth (at the entrance to the venue) anytime from 11-6 to pick up your gifts. Your name will be our on special Supporter list.
Can I Get Text Alerts for When the Speakers Are Starting?
