What Time is the Event & What is the Schedule?

The event starts at 11:00 a.m. with the first speaker going on stage at 11:20 a.m. The event ends at 6:00 p.m.

Check out the full day’s schedule. We’ll also have free programs available at the Info Booth and schedules posted throughout the event.

NOTE: We will be giving out free bags at the Info Booth (under the Yards Park canopy), starting at 11:00 a.m., to the first 1,000 people in line. Bags will not be given out before 11:00 a.m.

If you don’t want to wait in line for a bag, you’re welcome to walk right into the festival at 11 a.m. – it’s a free event and there is no need to check in at the Info Booth.

How Do I Get There? By Car, Metro, or Bus?

This year’s event will be held at the intersections of N St. and First St. SE directly across First St. from Nationals Stadium. Use of public transportation is highly recommended. The Navy Yard station on the Green Line is the closest Metro stop.

Please see our directions page for a map, driving directions, parking, and Metro information.

For more on getting to Yards Park, check the park website.

Where Can I Park My Car or Bike?

Cars: Use of public transportation is highly recommended. The DC VegFest does not provide any parking space. You can look for available street parking or garages in the area. For more on getting to Yards Park, check the park website.

Bikes: The Yards Park has bike racks clustered throughout the park, located along Water St SE. Capital Bikeshare is also conveniently located at the corner of First St. and N St. SE and the corner of M St. and New Jersey Ave. SE.

How Much Does the Event Cost?

It’s free!

Everyone is welcome at the DC VegFest, and we strongly encourage you to bring along your meat-eating (a.k.a. vegetarian-to-be) friends.

Can I Bring My Dog?

Yup! Four-legged friends are allowed, though they should be kept on a leash at all time.

At the event, you’ll find a designated Barking Lot offering water, treats, and clean-up bags.

Will There Be Activities for Kids?

Absolutely! We’ll have a special kids’ area tent featuring yoga, games, crafts, Ask-A-Vegan Family, kid-friendly cooking demonstration, and more. Bring along the whole family!

Is There an ATM Nearby? Will Vendors Take Cash Only?

There will be ATMs on site, and there is a USAA ATM inside the CVS located at 1100 New Jersey Ave. SE two blocks away from the festival.  Some vendors will also accept credit cards, though it’s up to each vendor –  we suggest bringing cash just in case.

What Happens If It Rains?

The DC VegFest is an outdoor event — rain or shine! The event will continue as planned unless weather poses a threat to the safety of our guests.

What Food Will Be Vegan (meat-, egg-, dairy-free)?

Everything will be vegan. This vegetarian celebration is 100% meat-, egg-, and dairy-free — even the dog treats!  You’ll also find several gluten-free options available at various vendors.

How Do I Get a Free DC VegFest Commemorative Tote Bag?
