It’s Official: DC Mayor Declares “DC VegFest Day”

 

proclamationThis week, Washington, DC Mayor Vincent Gray issued a “DC VegFest Day” Proclamation officially marking Sept. 28th as DC VegFest Day — and encouraging residents to participate in the day by attending the DC VegFest!

The proclamation asks all residents to “consider choosing vegetarian foods as a way to help protect their health, our planet, and animals.”

And, it even lists reasons why everyone should explore the benefits of vegetarian eating that include preserving environmental resources and decreasing risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, and various cancers.

The Washington, DC area has many thriving vegetarian and vegetarian-friendly businesses — many of which will be present at DC VegFest — stop by the DC VegFest to explore the variety and flavors of vegetarian foods!
