DC VegFest will be held on Lot H/I at Yards Park on Saturday, September 2nd. Get directions.
The event starts at 11:00 a.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m.
Stay tuned for the full day’s schedule! We’ll also have free programs available at the Info Booth and schedules posted throughout the event.
NOTE: We will be giving out free bags at the Info Booth, starting at 11:00 a.m., to the first 1,000 people in line. Bags will not be given out before 11:00 a.m.
If you don’t want to wait in line for a bag, you’re welcome to walk right into the festival at 11 a.m. – it’s a free event and there is no need to check in at the Info Booth.
Cars: Use of public transportation is highly recommended. The DC VegFest does not provide any parking space. You can look for available street parking or garages in the area. For more on getting to Yards Park, check the park website.
Bikes: The Yards Park has bike racks clustered throughout the park, located along Water St SE. Capital Bikeshare is also conveniently located at the corner of First St. and N St. SE and the corner of M St. and New Jersey Ave. SE.
This year’s event will be held at the intersections of N St. and First St. SE directly across First St. from Nationals Stadium. Use of public transportation is highly recommended. The Navy Yard station on the Green Line is the closest Metro stop. Be sure to check the Metro maintenance schedule in advance.
Please see our directions page for a map, driving directions, parking, and Metro information.

Everyone is welcome at the DC VegFest, and we strongly encourage you to bring along your meat-eating (a.k.a. vegetarian-to-be) friends.
Yup! Four-legged friends are allowed, though they must be kept on a leash at all times.
At the event, you’ll find a designated Barking Lot offering water, treats, and clean-up bags. Note that the pavement can be hot on pups’ paws.

We will also be selling empty DC VegFest commemorative tote bags for $5 each.
Starting at 11 a.m., we are giving away 1,000 DC VegFest commemorative tote bags loaded with samples and offers from our sponsors and exhibitors — we don’t expect these bags to last long, so be sure to get there on time for your chance to take one home! The bags will be given away at the Info Booth, and we’ll be forming a line along the sidewalk for anyone who shows up early.
We will also be selling empty DC VegFest commemorative tote bags for $5 after we have given away the 1,000 goodie bags.

There will be ATMs on site, and there is a USAA ATM inside the CVS located at 1100 New Jersey Ave. SE two blocks away from the festival. Some vendors will also accept credit cards, though it’s up to each vendor – we suggest bringing cash just in case.
The DC VegFest is an outdoor event — rain or shine! The event will continue as planned unless weather poses a threat to the safety of our guests.
Everything will be vegan. This celebration is 100% meat-, egg-, and dairy-free — even the dog treats! You’ll also find several gluten-free options available at various vendors.
Yes! The DC VegFest will provide a filtered water fountain station. Feel free to bring your reusable water bottle to fill up or get a water bottle at the Info booth for a $1 donation!
