DC VegFest 2014 Success: 15,000 People Strong & Growing!

“Thanks for being the best festival ever!”

Wow! We’re blown away by the amazing attendance and tremendously positive feedback that continues to pour in!  Thank YOU for helping us make this year’s DC VegFest a smashing success.

With a bigger location at Yard’s Park, came a bigger crowd of about 15,000 people ranging from vegans and vegetarians to those just curious to see what all the fun is about.

“I can’t believe the amount of people in attendance!”

This year’s main stage was 15342990252_1866f497a3_z-300x229beaming with speakers who inspired the crowd with humor, health, personal stories, and some simple yet delicious vegan cooking. Speakers included Robin Quivers, Bryant Terry, Dr. Neal Barnard, Erica Meier, and Washington Post’s Food Editor and “Weeknight Vegetarian” Joe Yonan, plus many more!

As always, the food was a hit – from dozens of restaurant vendors to free food samples, nearly everything was devoured by the end of the day.

15156708000_6442bdbeaa_z-206x300We also unleashed our first-ever Barking Lot for our furry four-legged guests. We expanded our kids’ activity area with yoga, music, and an Ask-A-Vegan Family presentation. And we added a music tent next to the beer garden where people could sit down and relax, making the event even more festive!

“Could I be having any more fun at DC VegFest? I don’t think so!”

There are so many reasons to celebrate the benefits 15343128092_cbe90223b8_z-300x169of plant-based eating – with every meat-free meal we choose, we’re choosing to protect our health, the planet, and animals. And the resounding success of this year’s DC VegFest and the extensive media coverage it’s receiving is helping demonstrate that veg eating has reached the mainstream and it’s here to stay.
