What to bring to the DC VegFest: Your Appetite!Posted on Sep 26, 2013
Get ready to eat: this year’s DC VegFest aims to please every palate with a variety of vendors and free samples! Bring your appetite — and some friends to help you carry some of the goods home with you.
Just to name a few sampling spots: Veggie meat favorites Field Roast, Tofurky, and Beyond Meat will be dishing out delicious samples of their protein-packed veggie meats. Want to try the all-vegan Treeline Cheese? Stop by their booth for samples (and sales!).
Hampton Creek Foods will also be serving up potato salad samples made with Just Mayo while Chicago Vegan Foods is offering Teese vegan cheese and Dandies Marshmallows. Be sure to also try some seitan from another Chicago-based company: Upton’s Naturals!
Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats will also have thousands of samples of its rich red velvet cake made with Go Veggie cream cheese, which will be right next store offering cream cheese samples! And there’s so much more: Snack on samples of Way Better chips, Michele’s Granola, and Tofutown.
Be sure to save room to indulge at our incredible food vendors: Tasty highlights include Amsterdam Falafelshop‘s signature falafel pitas, Woodland Vegan Bistro‘s soul food favorites, raw signature foods from Khepra’s Raw, the Randy Radish’s delicious fare, and Pete’s Apizza slices!
And of course, don’t miss out on Bread & Brew‘s famous nachos loaded with vegan toppings. Right next door is their beer and wine garden featuring a variety of local, seasonal beers including Old Dominion Octoberfest, Fordham Spiced Harvest, and Devils Backbone Ichabod Pumpkin. Plus, they’ll be serving organic spiced rum apple cider and a fresh peach hard lemonade (both can be made without alcohol).
Got a sweet tooth? Grab some Vegan Treats (below) before they run out and be sure to check out more treats from Sticky Fingers, Dama Pastry, Bakeshop, and Divine Treasures.
